In your browser
Your display choices (the Day, Night or Auto theme, list or calendar view, and the country you pick on the home page) are kept in your browser's local storage under keys that start with “nwd:”. They are never sent to our servers. You can remove them by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Cookies
We set no cookie for visitors. (One cookie exists only so the site's owner can keep his own browsers out of the visitor counter; it is never set for anyone else.) Advertising cookies may be set by Google only as described under “Advertising”.
Your country
To preselect your country on the home page, the page asks our /api/geo address, which reads the country that our host, Vercel, derives from your connection and passes with the request. We use it only to choose the country shown, and neither store nor log your IP address or the result.
The visitor counter
The counter at the bottom of every page shows how many visits the site has had, by country. A visit is counted once per day per connection, after a person has interacted with a visible page; the country comes from the header Vercel adds to each request. To recognise a repeat visit on the same day we keep a keyed one-way fingerprint (an HMAC) of the date and your IP address, from which the address cannot be read back; fingerprints are kept only for the current and previous day and then deleted. The IP address itself is never stored and no cookie is set for counting. Only totals per country are kept, in a database hosted by Neon. Crawlers and automated browsers are not counted.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across sites or build a profile of you. It records page views and basic, aggregated technical information such as the country and the type of device.
Advertising
The site is supported by advertising from Google AdSense. Where the law requires it (the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland) ads are shown only after you give consent through Google's certified consent message, and you can change your choice at any time with “Privacy choices” in the footer. Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure ads; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is usually nothing to access or delete. For any question about privacy, write to contact@nonworkingdays.app.
